Are you an art lover, knowledge seeker or educator at heart interested in taking on an active role at Laumeier Sculpture Park? If so, consider becoming a Laumeier Docent!
Laumeier Docents provide tours of the Park grounds, actively involving visitors in conversations about contemporary art. These vibrant volunteers help interpret the artworks for visitors of different ages with various backgrounds and interests, from across the region.
Docent training is an eight-week session offered twice per year (beginning in February and July). Following the training, Laumeier Docents are expected to pay annual dues ($50), attend monthly meetings (September–August) and provide six tours annually. Laumeier Docents must be ages 18 and up. Neither a teaching nor art history background is required for participation.
Please contact Liz Murphy, Public Programs Manager, at 314.615.5267 with questions or for more information about becoming a Laumeier Docent, including application materials.
