NATURE, HEALTH + WELLNESS PROGRAMS
Laumeier Sculpture Park encourages visitors to engage in experiences of art and nature and uncover the health and wellness benefits provided by these experiences.
Whether it’s the calming effects of being in nature, movement for your body, or inspiration for healthy habits, we hope you will join us for these upcoming and ongoing programs.
WALKING TOURS
Experience artwork in the great outdoors and deepen your connection to nature and to our five senses. Join us for our walking tours on select Sundays—each tour focuses on a different theme and area of the Park. Walking Tours are sponsored by St. Louis County Parks.
Level 1 / This tour includes both flat surfaces and some paved trails. The group will stay in proximity to resting areas and accessibility ramps.
Level 2 / This tour includes both paved trails and unpaved trails. The group will travel farther from resting areas and parking areas.
Level 3 / This tour includes unpaved surfaces, some slopes and narrow trails. Participants can expect to be in proximity to wildlife and some foliage. Proper footwear is strongly recommended.
HeART & Nature Walk: A Love Letter to Laumeier
Celebrate love – in all of its shapes, forms, and colors – on a brisk morning walk at the Park. Join us for a lighthearted tour exploring Judith Shea’s American Heartland Garden (1992) and other artworks that express the artists’ deep adoration for art and nature.
Sunday, February 9, 11 a.m. / FREE, reservation required
Under the Stars
Join Laumeier Sculpture Park & the St. Louis Astronomical Society for an evening of stargazing. See what our moon and other planets look like up close—while you learn about different telescopes that astronomers use.
Saturday, March 15 / 7–9 p.m. / $10 / All Ages
ONGOING PROGRAMS:
MINDFUL REMINDERS
Placed throughout the Park, you will find nine Mindful Reminders that encourage you to search, pause, reflect and practice mindfulness techniques that can contribute to a positive sense of well-being. Bring awareness to your presence on earth in each unique space with both your mind and your body.
What is Mindfulness? It is the ability to be fully present, aware of where you are and what you are doing. We are often preoccupied with thoughts and anxieties that are not actually connected to our immediate environment. Allow the natural environment and the artistic creations to impact and speak to you, and savor the experience. Practice gratitude and appreciation.
