Join Laumeier Sculpture Park's 2017 Kranzberg Exhibition Series artist Yvonne Osei for an interactive performance entitled Carry Load, 2017, utilizing head wraps, a traditional clothing in Ghanaian culture. The event will highlight the ability for clothing to transcend its functionality as a protective covering to become a fabrication that facilitates constructive and critical discourse. Osei will also discuss the inspiration for her upcoming exhibition at Laumeier utilizing and fusing textiles, sculpture, photography and film. Laumeier’s Conversation Series provides free, informal learning opportunities through discussion about new artworks in temporary exhibitions or legacy artworks in the Permanent Collection. Conversation Series events encourage participants to share ideas and ask questions in a relaxed atmosphere. Refreshments are provided. Event is located in the Kranzberg Education Lab.
