KAREN OLSON

Karen Olson is the editor-in-chief of American Craft, an 81-year old publication about functional and fine craft being created across the United States. She was previously editor-in-chief of Public Art Review, which covered international art in public spaces, and the cultural magazine Utne Reader.

She also helped create FORWARD, a publication about how artists are tackling the vital issues of our times, and she worked with ArtPlace America to create a book telling its story.

A lifelong lover of craft, Karen holds an MFA in creative writing and a BA in art history, and she has taught at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Colorado State University, and Northern Arizona University.
