Mud + Merlot: Inspirational Quote Plaques 

Bring your friends to Laumeier Sculpture Park and get creative with clay! Share a favorite inspirational quote or choose one from our collection to inscribe on your own ceramic plaque. Use letter stamps and other mark-making techniques that fit your quote best while learning how to incorporate interesting textures and vibrant colors that will turn up the vibe wherever you choose to display your new masterpiece! Bring your own wine (or other beverage of your choice); light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

CLAY CLASSES and WORKSHOPS /
Wheel Throwing
(Ages 7–10)

Learn the basics of using the potter’s wheel to make functional clay pieces and non-functional sculptures. Study the fundamental techniques of wedging, centering and raising cylindrical forms such as bowls, cups and vases. Includes an introduction to glazing. Wear old clothes, bring a towel and plan on getting messy!

HeART & Nature Walk: A Love Letter to Laumeier 

Celebrate love – in all of its shapes, forms, and colors – on a brisk morning walk at the Park. Join us for a lighthearted tour exploring Judith Shea’s American Heartland Garden (1992) and other artworks that express the artists’ deep adoration for art and nature.
