FAMILY WORKSHOPS

Work together in a collaborative art-making experience! Multi-generational workshops are a wonderful way for families to spend quality and creative time together. Children—along with a favorite grownup!—explore art and nature, develop a meaningful bond and create memories to last a lifetime.

The registration fee for Family Workshops includes one adult with one child; children must be accompanied by an adult. All ages programs are listed at a per person rate.

Watercolor Wildflowers

It is late in the summer and the wildflowers at Laumeier Sculpture Park are in full bloom! Spend the morning visiting the Park’s native wildflower patches while learning about the importance of Midwest pollinators. Bee inspired to create several watercolor paintings following a local artist’s demonstration and leave with a collection of masterpieces that you will cherish forever. Mudworks

Did you know that clay comes from the earth? Notice how you feel when you roll and squeeze it between your fingers. Let nature and the outdoors inspire your creation while learning how to sculpt, coil and glaze together. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

Wheel Throwing Together

Share a wheel and learn about basic pottery techniques working side by side with your family member! Follow an instructor demonstration to create a bowl together. Add hand-built embellishments and collaborate on color to make your project truly special. Leave your project with us to be kiln-fired and pick up your finished piece the following week.

EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Scholarships for education programs are available through the Laumeier Sculpture Park Education Scholarship Fund. Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed for all applicants. Scholarships are granted solely on the basis of financial need and are awarded on a sliding scale. Assistance is granted regardless of race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation or nationality. Laumeier cannot guarantee space in a program without a completed Scholarship Application Form. Applicants must submit a new Scholarship Application Form on an annual basis.
