Art Adventurers / Ages 5-10 / Full Day

Experience art and nature through exploration of Laumeier's green space, woodland trails, outdoor sculptures, and creek. This full-day art camp is designed for ages 5-10, with an emphasis on play, exploration, and friendship. Young artists learn about contemporary and historical artists, interact with special guests, immerse themselves in the woodland creek and trails, and experiment with a variety of materials and processes to create amazing works of art!

Each session is inspired by a unique theme and young artists are divided into four different teams by age. Five- and six-year-olds may register for either half-day Little Buds or full-day Art Adventurers. 

Participants ages 3.5 - 4 must register for Little Buds Art Camp.  Five- and six-year olds may register for either Little Buds half-day camp or full-day Art Adventurers, provided they are enrolled in or have completed kindergarten by the start of their session. 

Ten-year-olds may register for Art Adventurers or Art Squad. 

Art Adventurers meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Camps are based outdoors in Laumeier’s Moss Education Labs, with some time spent inside the Aronson Fine Arts Center.  Cost: $320/ one-week session.

June 9 / Art Enchanted
Abrakadabra, alakazam, make your art as charming as you can! Ready your wands and cauldrons for an absolutely spellbinding week of artmaking inspired by your favorite magical characters and stories. Our curious creations will defy gravity, our bewitching potions will bubble, and our whimsical illusions will make mere muggles believe in magic!

June 16 / Rise Up, Make Art
Get ready to stand up for yourself and others this week as we experience the power of art as activism! As an artist, you will have the opportunity to choose a cause that is important to you and to use your creative strength to advocate for change. As a team, we will work with local organizations to support our community and discover the joy of “artivism”! Note: We will be learning about and celebrating Juneteenth and World Refugee Day this week.

June 23 / Countdown to Launch
Calling all astronauts: Be prepared to trek into the vast unknowns of the universe this week! We’ll use art to investigate galaxies, planets, moons, and more, along with the amazing science and technology that makes space exploration possible. Don’t be surprised if an alien or UFO makes an appearance – space is a mystery!

June 30 / Play Parade
Celebrate the power of play in artmaking this week! We’ll play with our materials to make lively compositions, design unique games, make our own entertaining toys and cozy stuffies, and experiment with different forms of movement. The Park is our creative playground! Note: This is a 4-day session due to the holiday. The Family Art Walk will take place on Thursday, July 3. See the Family Handbook for more details. Session cost is $256 for the shorter week.)

July 7 / Epic Odyssey
Armed with art supplies, we will accept the herculean task of exploring myths, legends, folklore, and tall tales from around the globe this week. In a world of dreams and imagination, discover heroes, monsters, and larger-than-life characters that will inspire you to draft your own unbelievable masterpieces. “And now tell me, and tell me true”: Are you up for the challenge?

July 14 / Made in STL
They’re from the Lou’ and they’re proud! From Chuck Berry to Nelly, Maya Angelou to Jon Hamm, Max Beckman to rising star Kennedy Holmes, a long list of influential artists have called the St. Louis region their home. Get to know the work of these impressive artists, musicians, writers, actors, dancers, and other creatives, then make your own unique art inspired by their stories. We are the movers and the shakers!

July 21 / Nature’s STEAM Lab
Gear up for an exciting week of discovery! We’ll use science, technology, engineering, art, and math to explore the outdoors, learning about inventions that use natural materials and running experiments with creek water, plants, and sunlight. As stewards of the land, our sustainable art will give back to nature!

July 28 / Rainbow Disco Ball
You’re invited to a very colorful ball to celebrate the end of summer! Start imagining your perfect party… Decorations? Food? Music? Friends? We’ll use all the colors of the rainbow, mirrors and glitter, funky shapes, and fun found objects to make festive artwork fit for the party of your dreams!

We proudly provide a safe and welcoming environment for all young artists. Our team includes staff with backgrounds in special education, art therapy, English language development, and more. When registering, please give details about your young artist's needs and we'll work with you to meet them.


EXTENDED DAY

Before and after care offers flexibility for families with varied schedules. Our experienced before and after care staff provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for all artists who participate. Artists enrolled in full-day programs (Art Adventurers and Art Squad) are eligible to participate in both before and after care. Artists enrolled in half-day morning programs (Little Buds) are eligible to participate in before care. Teen artists enrolled in afternoon programs (Creative Workshop Series and Anime Club) are eligible to participate in after care.

EXCESSIVE HEAT ADVISORY
In the case of an Excessive Heat Advisory, full-day, fully outdoor programs (Art Adventurers) will be released at 1:30pm
for the safety of our young artists and staff. Families will be contacted regarding weather-related closures and early releases by Laumeier's Summer Buzz Newsletter, delivered via email.

EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Scholarships for Art Camps and Teen Art Programs are available through the Laumeier Sculpture Park Education Scholarship Fund. Assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed for all applicants. The application process is part of the online registration form. You do not need to supply any additional documents or information.
